The Butterfly and the Bee - Muhmmad Ali was way before my time, but his legend and greatness transcended generations and I am thankful to have known that this man existed in my lifetime.
I've never seen his live fights, I've never seen his live interviews but growing up I was fascinated by his charisma, athleticism, and generosity towards mankind. I love watching documentaries about his fights because we may never see another athlete who could dominate their opponent while surging pure electricity to those who had the privilege of witnessing his performance.
On the flip side many people didn't appreciate or understand the man behind the gloves. I think Muhammad, was an artist when it came to painting his image with the public and did not waver when the masses did not accept him for who he wanted to be. He just wanted to be true to himself and just as no one in his prime could stop him in the ring, no one in life could tell him who he was and how he was going to impact the world.
Rest in Peace Champ. Thank you for being an inspiration for many and thank you for paving the way with your courage and ferocity.
